The story
Gewürztraminer is the pink-skinned, aromatic form of Traminer, a mutation of Savagnin, and its name is associated with Tramin in South Tyrol. In Poland it is grown in Lower Silesia. Further down the road it is a parent: Pálava in Moravia and Devín in Slovakia both carry Traminer in their crossing.
Few grapes are as easy to recognise: rose petal, lychee, ginger, a full body and low acidity. It is made dry, off-dry and sweet, and the perfume carries through all three.
